Nadia Wright, a 2025 graduate of Murrah High School, is a member of the Magnolia Literacy Project’s Blossoms Mother-Daughter Reading Club. Born and raised in Jackson Mississippi, she is the embodiment of a scholar and creative. At Murrah, Nadia was a special honors AP student and a two-time Gold McMullen Scholarship recipient; winner of 54 Scholastic awards in three years, including an American Vision Nominee; an American Voice Nominee; and a National Silver Award recipient. She is also one of five National Student Poets for the 2024-2025 School Year, the first one from Mississippi. Nadia has spoken on panels about poetry and Black literature and has been a guest speaker for many other scholarly events. Through her nationally acclaimed writing and visual art, she aims to chronicle the complexities of Black existence, understand life's intricacies, and record her journey. Her love of her Black culture and Black literary greats, such as Toni Morrison, Kiese Laymon and Jesmyn Ward, have paved the way for her unique writing fashion. In the fall of 2025, Nadia will start her undergraduate studies at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
